Havard Cooper Biography

Havard Cooper is a disciplined architectural designer, LEED Green Associate and graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design with a Professional Master of Architecture and Bachelor of Fine Arts degree; as well as an active member of the Architectural League of New York.

Though Havard Cooper has yet to define his prefered style, he appreciates the mending of usually distinc worlds. He fancies Tadao Ando's use of forgotten knowledge, the immersion into the unconsious by Dalí, the stark simplicity of Richard Meier, the flamboyant sensual lines of Baroque; and especially the marriage of the seemingly divergent methods of exploration. The exposure of the of perverse systems in Renzo Piano's "Centre Pompidou", and appreciates the sharp laying of planes by Frank Lloyd Wright. The manner in which any design should be handled according to Mr. Cooper should be through programatic rules, but executed with grace where the complexity of systems should be softened by the simplicity of the design.
